The Tank Dolly® ⏤ Rubber bumpers
3 specific sets of rubber bumpers cradle your scuba tanks and protect the bottom of the Weight Box
Rubber bumpers shown in the photo:
Left: 0.44H x 1D inch (1.1H x 2.5D cm)
[Standard Tank Brace and Sand Tire]
Center: 1H x 1D inch (2.5H x 2.5D cm)
[Extender for the Tank Brace]
Right: 1.25H x 1.25D inch (3.1H x 3.1D cm)
- A stainless-steel nut is placed inside of the recessed portion of the rubber bumper
- A washer is embedded in each rubber bumper for strength and durability
Rubber bumper material:
- The rubber bumper is made from Styrene-Butadiene which is an extremely hard and durable rubber compound
- The rubber bumper has a service temperature range from -60° to +180°F (-51° to 82°C)
Rubber bumpers for the All-Terrain Tire
Use the 1.25H x 1.25D inch (3.1H x 3.1D cm) rubber bumpers with the All-Terrain Tires
- The All-Terrain Tire rubber bumper is 0.8 inch (2 cm) taller than the Sand Tire rubber bumper
- The All-Terrain Tire rubber bumpers must be removed when using the Sand Tires
- In addition to protecting the bottom of the Weight Box, the rubber bumpers level The Tank Dolly®
Bolt size:
- Stainless-steel 1/4-inch diameter (6.3 mm)
- 5/32-inch Allen wrench (3.9 mm)
- The stainless-steel BHCS bolt is accessible from inside the Weight Box
Rubber bumpers for the Sand Tire
Use the (2) 0.44H x 1D inch (1.1H x 2.5D cm) rubber bumpers with the Sand Tires
- The Sand Tire rubber bumpers are 0.8 inches (2 cm) shorter than the All-Terrain Tires rubber bumpers
- The Sand Tire rubber bumpers may remain attached to the Weight Box when using the All-Terrain Tires
- In addition to protecting the bottom of the Weight Box, the rubber bumpers level The Tank Dolly®
Bolt size:
- Stainless-steel 10-24 bolt
- 1/8-inch Allen wrench (3.1 mm)
- The stainless-steel BHCS bolt is accessible from inside the Weight Box
Rubber bumpers for Sand Tires and All-Terrain Tires
Extender rubber bumpers for Doubles
The Extender rubber bumper is 1H x 1D inch (2.5 x 2.5 cm)
- The Extender rubber bumpers are used to stabilize a Doubles rig by replacing both of the Tank Brace's outside 0.44H inch (1.1H cm) rubber bumpers
- Your Doubles rig is now securely cradled between the outside Extender rubber bumpers (pictured above) and the inside standard 0.44H inch (1.1H cm) rubber bumpers
Why do I need the Extender rubber bumper for Doubles?
The standard 0.44H inch (1.1H cm) outside rubber bumpers are on the Tank Brace do not make contact with the Doubles, due to the static 2 inch (5 cm) distance between tanks that are created by the Doubles' tank band
Create additional space between 2 independent scuba tanks
The Extender rubber bumpers also provide 1.12 inches (2.8 cm) of additional space between tanks
- By replacing both of the Tank Brace's inside 0.44H inch (1.1H cm) rubber bumpers with the Extender rubber bumper, additional clearance is created between tanks when using 2 XL or bulky BCDs
- The Extender rubber bumper allows easy access to your BCDs and the STB-34C tank strap
